The distinctive voice of Mr Punch is made by using a little device called a Swazzle. This was keep a closely guarded secret for many years but now is openly known.
 
originally made from flattening a silver coin, cut and shaped to make this little device to make a shrill voice.
 
As with any musical instrument it will take time to learn and use.
